In automotive engineering, an intake manifold or inlet manifold is the part of an engine that supplies the fuel/air cross to the cylinders. The colloquy manifold may come from the Decrepit English confab manigfeald (from the Anglo-Saxon manig [many] and feald Exhaust Systems [fold]) and refers to the folding together of multiple inputs and outputs.
